2nd AGM for HR2W

Human Right 2 Water held it’s second AGM this week on 13th July 2022. It marks the two year anniversary of the Constitutional AGM, held on 6th May 2020, in the middle of the global pandemic..

It was gratifying to see that our members turned out in force with over 25% of the membership present for the meeting. One of the main items on the agenda was to vote in the Board Members (old and new) and to welcome the new Board of ten members.

The AGM was an opportunity to review our strategy, share the developing methodology that HR2W has been fine-tuning through its country programmes, and update the members of the various activities and programmes in the pipeline. As shown in this slide, most of our programmes follow the same methodology, starting with a review of the baseline, and using a participative process to undertand the human rights challenges, reflect these into human right indicators, and then work with our partners to integrate these into district plans and monitoring of progress. It is only through the gathering of disaggregated data that we will eventually reach 100% of the targets laid out in the SDGs.

It was also an opportunity to present the Membership Country Coordinator Programme and the opportunities for members to get involved through citizen science, educational tools and capacity building. The Youth Platform is another way for members to feel part of the global community of practice.

The slides will be shared with our membership with the AGM minutes. If you are interested in becoming a member, then please apply through our membership page, or get in touch with one of us through info@humanright2water.org.
