Ensuring water availability, sustainable management, and sanitation for all: Implementation of public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean

This publication, “Ensuring water availability, sustainable management and sanitation for all: Implementation of public policies in Latin America and the Caribbean,” is the result of the research project and it presents the state of the art of the debate on the implementation of SDG 6 in the region, its level of knowledge both in government spheres, in management bodies and in the community in general, while systematising different literature and reflections on the main challenges involved in making the 17 SDGs possible and, in particular, SDG 6. To this end, the authors and reviewers from various countries in the region conducted an analysis of the available documentation on the subject and conducted a survey aimed at water authorities, UNESCO chairs and centres in Latin America and the Caribbean. The preliminary conclusions were discussed at CODIA, carrying out a more current and complete review of the topics addressed.
